TouchMountain won the "Swisscom App of the Year Award" (Switzerland) and the "Lumia Geek-8 Week Technology Showcase" award! TouchMountain is the perfect tourist guide in the mountains and lets you discover peaks worldwide. You can find nearby mountains on the camera's viewfinder (Augmented Reality), on the map, via the search or on the list. TouchMountain offers a whole bunch of information of every peak: elevation, distance to the peak, live webcams, wikipedia articles of the surroundings, weather and other useful information about the place. You can see the peaks through the camera (Augmented Reality), on a map or in a list! This app also includes dozens of little features like a compass, navigation, sharing, screenshots, etc. Discovering worldwide peaks has never been easier than with TouchMountain! So why don't you check out TouchMountain today and try it out for free? If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact us on email@example.com. More information or suggestions: www.touchmountain.com. Notice: No personal or localization data is saved. Your Windows Phone needs to have a digital compass to use the Live View (Augmented Reality). Unfortunately, there are some devices (e.g. LG Optimus 7, Nokia Lumia 510/520/525/610/620/625, ZTE Orbit, HTC Radar/8S) which don't have a digital compass and can therefore not run the Live View. You can of course use all the other features!
2/28/2014Trying it out in rural Alaska. So far so good on my Nokia 920. Will add more after additional use. Great way to explore mountains and discovered names to many surrounding peaks that I didn't realize had a name. Offline maps are easy to download via WiFi.
2/14/2014Perfect app!! - in Los Angeles California
2/3/2014Nice app, easy to use
2/3/2014I love TouchMountain, a must for hikers, just great and so many mountains already stored, it's worth the fee
7/17/2013Polished design that looks great and takes advantage of the Modern Interface. Neat to learn the names of those peaks on the outskirts of town. Would benefit from some way to adjust the bearing (i.e. manual offset) to account for minor variation in phone's compass.
6/10/2013Great app. I love hiking in my area so this app is invaluable. Customer service is great as they answered a question I had in a prompt and friendly manner.
5/4/2013The trial only shows mountains within 5km radius which very rarely will be the case. So I bought it only to find that all the mountains if finds are not showing in the AR view at all.
4/5/2013Pretty awesome. If it was a $1 id buy the full version
11/29/2011This app requires a compass. My Samsung Focus doesn't have one. But, I wasn't informed of this until after buying and going through a 1/2 hour install process for the app. I'm not sure if it's a Marketplace limitation or TouchMountain limitation, regardless - users need to be informed of this limitation before purchasing.
11/9/2011Intriguing app, lots of information. Needs more work before it is useful for identifying peaks visible on the horizon.
