Tether-X helps you turn your phone into a Wi-Fi hotspot. By configuring a few settings in your computer, you can take advantage of the big screen to do anything you want on the web using your phone's data plan. Watch the video how to setup tethering for quick setup: http://bit.ly/tetheringvideo

Note: We don't store or share your location information. Location tracking is required to be able to run the app on the background. Although this is a free app, Tether-X will be limited to 1 time use per day after 10 days of use. You can unlock this by in-app purchasing and start using it unlimited times per day and it will be ad free too!

Steps:
1) Launch an elevated command prompt, cmd (the one with administrator privileges)
2) Now, set up the hosted wireless network using this command. Replace the parts in markup tags with your own choices.
netsh wlan set hosted mode=allow ssid=<enter_network_name_here> key=<enter_password_here>
3) Now, you need to start the network. Use the command below.
netsh wlan start hosted
Instead of dealing with commands you can use these scripts: http://bit.ly/tetherxscripts
3) Alternatively some people reported that it is easy to setup hosted wireless network with "Virtual Router Manager" program.
4) Connect the wireless network that you have created and make sure "Keep Wifi on when the screen times out" is checked under Setting -> Wifi -> Advanced
5) Open the Tether-X app and tap the 'Start Proxy Engine'
6) Set your proxy in Internet Explorer or your favorite browser. For IE: Tools -> Internet Options and click on the Connections tab. Click on the "LAN settings". Make sure "Use a proxy server for your LAN" is CHECKED and type in the Address as shown in Tether-X's home page, followed by the Port number.
More detailed info: http://bit.ly/setupproxy
7) Restart your browser if necessary and enjoy your internet! If you run into any issues, please contact us via "send feedback" link from the app.

Thanks!

Giving 4 stars as app is easy to set up and get connected to. Downside is their proxy server takes a lot of time to connect so browsing on PC becomes limited to checking emails most of the times

Works flawlessly for me. Been using jt almost every day for the last 4 months. Though I use it to give internet to all applications and not sure the browser. Harder to set up but well worth it

Not very responsive on Windows 8, but works at times.

I use this app for everything and it really works very awesome, those with unlimited data plans will have a blast with this app. Sadly it won't work for gaming consoles because they don't have proxy connection settings but for anything else this app is super awesome and it does work with WP 8.1 and even with WP 8.1 Developer Preview.

This app is awesome and works great with my Nokia 521 window os cell phone. Right now I have 5GB of hot spot and UNL cell phone data. I just checked my usage and in 36 hours I used 10GB of data and my hotspot data remains unused this REALLY WORKS. Now I truly have unlimited 4LTE and better. What I mean is it downloads at 1-3mb per second its like this app unleashes the network through the cell NO LIE.

Works for me, if its not working for you, you are probably ignorant with networking and computers. I should have developed an app like this YEARS ago.

This does work as advertised, HOWEVER, there is a side effect. I tried this with a Lumia 920 and a Dell Venue 8 Pro tablet. It worked, but the next time I tried to play an "Xbox live" game on my tablet, it was unable to connect to the Xbox live server. Therefore, I could only play as a guest (no achievements / no saved setting). I had to reinstall Windows to fix the issue. I don't know if this issue exists with others tablets or computers.
