Sound Meter for Windows Phone is a tool for measuring the sound pressure level (SPL) using the phone's built-in microphone. The application continuously measures the sound pressure level (SPL) in decibels (dB) and displays the results via a graphical level meter. Users can also take average and peak SPL measurements over a given time period between 10 and 60 seconds. Version 2.0 of Sound Meter has an improved algorithm for measuring SPL levels. The application also now has a calibration setting that allows users to calibrate the SPL meter for the microphone and pre-amp on each specific phone.
6/24/2011Ok, so I purchased the app. Looks nice. So how do I calibrate it? All I have is a slider, which was at 15 before I touched it. Now I can't get it back to 15. No About screen. No way to contact the developer. What's up with that.
4/29/2011The best one available in the marketplace. Not as amazing as my 2000 dollar standalone unit but it does the job.
3/19/2011I've downloaded every spl meter in the app store and this is the best one by far.
1/6/2011The new 2.0 version of this app is pretty awesome. The results are pretty accurate and the calibration setting lets you fine tune the measurements for your specific phone
11/15/2010It doesn't provide any way to adjust level for individual phone. Reading seems totally wrong. There is no way I can produce 120dB level often.
