Social Reads, your reading partner! Please send me an email with your problems rather than just exposing them in the reviews section, so I could figure out the source of the problem and fix it. Social Reads is a GoodReads client for Windows Phone. (It is not an e-book reader). It features a very user-friendly UI so you can explore your books and edit your book shelves. You can also browse GoodReads for books, read reviews and get ratings. Social Reads also allows you to scan books by ISBN, so you can add them to your virtual shelves effortlessly!! With Bing integration: when you find a book under 'products' in Bing Search, navigating to 'apps' allows you to look up Social Reads for this book. Highlights of v188.8.131.52: - Removed main menu shortcut button in favor of gestures (pinch the screen to show the main menu) Highlights of v1.7.0: - Added voice search and voice commands (hold the start button and wait for the popup, say a command like "Social Reads show me the books I'm currently reading", you don't have to open the app first) Highlights of v1.8.0: - Notifications! - Unification (by Liquid Daffodil) support Highlights of v1.8.4: - Added the ability to view reviews from compare page - Added the ability to flick through book shelves when inside a shelf Highlights of v1.8.5: - Added link viewer to view goodreads links inside SR What's new in v1.9.0: - Added "similar books" support - Memory optimizations - Added the ability to adjust the app tile to the phone's theme color - Skinery support What's new in v1.9.1: - Custom background fix - Editions support - Added "projected finish date" to reading challenge - UI improvements What's new in v1.9.2: - Removed Unification support as the service is shutting down - Added lens support What's new in v1.9.3: - Search through shelf bug fix What's new in v2.0.0: - New design and lots of bug fixes!
10/2/2014I really like this app, it's easy to use and well organized. The only thing I can't stand is the color scheme. The brick red tone is very unpleasant and not kind to the eyes.
9/26/2014Like this app!
9/26/2014Great Goodreads app. I actually prefer it to the official apps on other platforms. And it keeps improving with frequent updates. Requested feature: make currently-reading list more accessible, and sort it by recent date descending like the goodreads home page does.
9/11/2014The reviewer who said this has a "beautiful UI" is either clueless or knows the developer. This app is clunky, annoying and unstable. It crashes all the time and very rarely actually does the things it's supposed to do. I've been using it for about a year because of a lack of Goodreads support in other apps. I finally got fed up and downloaded Epiphany instead. That app has a much more pleasant and usable UI and already works WAY better and faster than this app. I am uninstalling this as we speak.
8/22/2014I really like this app. The most complete portal to goodreads in WP8. But the aesthetic hasn't changed in years, and it hangs up the phone. I'll check up on newer versions.
8/19/2014This is a great Goodreads app, marred by a rather distracting UI color scheme (I hate to use the word ugly, but if the shoe fits...). The multitude of colors used throughout the app detracts from an otherwise pleasant user experience, and does not mesh well with the overall feel of the modern design paradigm.
8/4/2014On HTC 8x-it doesn't completely suck but I like epiphany much better
