The application plays SikhNet live Gurbani audio streams from Gurdwaras around the world that includes live kirtan from Harmandir Sahib, Amritsar, Punjab, India and also plays SikhNet radio channels (1-6) featuring different types of Gurbani music (Western, Raag, Simran, Akhand Paath, Classics etc.).

This is a fully functional application. An active internet connection (Wi-Fi or Cellular Data connection) is required to populate the list of available ‘SikhNet Radio Channels’ & ‘Live Gurdwara Channels’ and also to play any selected channel. The available channel lists are dynamically updated for any new or updated channels. A single tap on a channel in the list starts playing that channel and a new page with detailed information about that selected channel along with audio controls is displayed. The selected channel can also be paused/played and the volume can be raised or lowered from the audio controls on this page. The volume can also be controlled from the Universal Volume Control (UVC). Pressing the phone device ‘Back button’ takes back to the Channel list and any other channel can be selected & played in the same way. 

The Background audio playing support allows audio to play even when the application is not in the foreground. This will run under the lock screen where the audio can be controlled using the Universal Volume Control (UVC).

The audio for a channel selected from the list of ‘Live Gurdwara Channels’ may not be available at a particular time depending upon whether the selected Gurdwara is relaying the live audio at that time or not, as these Gurdwaras are located in different time zones around the world.
