Assemble and command a Roman army in this epic exploration and strategy game. Shipwrecked on an island far from the heart of the Roman empire, the battered remnants of your army struggle to survive. As a Praetor appointed by the hand of the Emperor himself, the burden of command in this harsh environment lands fully on your shoulders. With so little equipment and so few remaining troops, how can you possibly conquer this land and return triumphant to your home? Striking inland you must use your few remaining forces to explore the land before you. There you will face dozens of crafty computer opponents, each with unique skills, strengths and approaches to battle. As your victories mount your army will be strengthened: new skills, warriors and even magics will become yours to command. Explore and conquer, always choosing your battles carefully. Praetor's unique turn-based game mechanic skillfully blends a collectible card game with a strategy board game. As you face each opponent you can summon your warriors to your aid and direct their actions on the playing field: flank your opponents to reduce their defenses, lure them away from their leader in the promise of an easy victory or build a phalanx and crush them with pure might. This release contains Episodes 1 through 3 of Praetor, representing three quarters of the role playing game's full story arc. These episodes contain hour after hour of variety and challenge, including a lengthy free trial. Your purchases, game suggestions and good reviews will all encourage us to expedite the final Episode 4 as a free in-place upgrade, allowing your journey to continue through dozens of new lands. Update v3.1: - Fixes bug where Taissus marketplace reset itself - Significant reduction in memory use - Minor fixes, performance improvements and play tuning
1/4/2015Great app. Works well on Lumia 900. Good storyline to go along with the RPG style game. Please release final chapter!!
7/10/2014Well its been 3years and story is still incomplete. Really should get a refund for that. Other wise it's a great game. One of WP best strategy games. Will give 5 stars once final chapter comes out.
5/4/2014Possibly the best strategy game available on the Windows phone. Excellent game. Hopefully the continuation of the campaign will be developed soon...
4/1/2014Great game, amazing value. Well-developed pieces, numerous strategies based on your preferred method to mix creatures and abilities, and very challenging. Best bang for your buck I have found on WP.
3/27/2014I cannot recommend this game highly enough, it is the only game I've played fully through on the windows phone.
1/28/2014Really awesome, but I'm really sad Microsoft killed his operating toolkit. The only way to make an update is to re-write the code completely. -he-who-shall-not-be-named-Beverly (NatrianFire)
12/23/2013The only app I have ever paid for and its worth every cent. Constantly fun and challenging, can't wait for the final story (and hopefully versus) to finally finish off this amazing game.
12/14/2013This is an amazing game. Combines the MTG card game and turn based RPG elements into a fantastic experience. Wish it was a full XBLA title with chevos. EDIT: This game is not too hard, but its not easy either. Its a strategy game that requires you to go back to the drawing board from time to time with a different set of weapons or creatures until the best strategy is found. The strategy guide is free as well and right there on the website. I will admit that I have used it a few times. The cool thing is that each battle can be solved many ways. Praetor is the best game on WP.
