Office Remote turns your phone into a smart remote that interacts with Microsoft Office on your PC. The app lets you control Word, Excel, and PowerPoint from across the room, so you can walk around freely during presentations.

New PowerPoint Features in v1.1
- View current slide and laser point on it without changing phone orientation
- Next slide preview
- Play and pause embedded audio and video files

With Office Remote, you can start your PowerPoint presentation, advance the slides, see your speaker notes, and control an on-screen laser pointer with a touch of your finger — all from your phone. You can also navigate between Excel worksheets and graphs, and control data slicers from the palm of your hand. And you can scroll through a Word document or quickly jump to specific sections or comments.

App requirements:
- Microsoft Office 2013. This app does not work with Office 2013 RT or earlier versions of Office.
- Bluetooth on your PC
- The desktop add-in for Office Remote must be installed on your PC

Office Remote has the following features:

One pretty big flaw is when using it as a powerpoint remote. The notes for each slide are limited text. If you have many talking points for a slide, you can't view them all on your phone. Left me bumbling like an *****. :(

This app works great. But it lacks of some features. I want to click on the button that makes some action on the slide.

Works great but I REALLY wish it could work on my Surface RT. I still have to lug my laptop to meetings. Give some love to your early adopters!

I've only tried this on one PowerPoint so far. Basically I really like the concept and for the most part the app. I view the Bluetooth connection as a positive, because WiFi is not always accessible when giving a presentation. Here are my complaints: * Doesn't work on Office RT, which makes my Surface RT suck more. * On the slide preview where I should see a thumbnail image of all my slides, only two images rendered and there is no refresh option. * When in laser pointer mode, you can't switch slides.

This app is amazing. Used it for a team meeting and now my whole team wants to download it.

I'm giving three stars based on Bluetooth, but there are situations where what I'd really like is to use my Microsoft ID as the connector between Office and Office Remote instead of Bluetooth. Please give us the option not to use Bluetooth, and use either Windows Azure Mobile Services/MPNS as the transport, or just SignalR, with both sides logged in using the same ID, and now we're talking. Thanks! This is a great start...
