4/15/2014Absolute tripe!... If this article was true why did the COE build a salmon fish hatchery near Bridgeport, Wa? Chief Joseph Dam is the largest Corp project and send hydro power to five states. Like Chief Joe, there are many dams on the upper Columbia River with fish ladders. Anyone that has worked in a powerhouse that produces hydo energy knows that fish ladders are THE ONLY means to hope for fish survival for salmon swimming up stream. Turbines kill fish. The Indians realized this and fought hard to get the Corp to build this hatchery. Fish surviving going through a turbine is a myth!
