Use any photo as a map! MapSnap GPS is a fast and easy handheld map for those situations where road maps aren't good enough and you can't download a map. Just take a photo of a paper map using the camera in your device, mark your location using your inbuilt GPS, select the scale (or mark another location), and you're good to go. Whether you're hiking, cycling, or just sick of endlessly unfolding and refolding tourist or amusement park maps, MapSnap GPS is the perfect tool! MapSnap GPS • Allows you to photograph a physical map or use any image as a map • Shows your current GPS map position in real time • Adds a dynamic scale indicator (kilometres or miles) and a north indicator to every map • Can rotate maps to north, to your current bearing, or to true north (using the compass) • Supports OneDrive/email GPX path export for upload to sites like Google or Bing maps • Has a realtime GPS dashboard • Can run under a locked screen • Automatically saves "snapped" maps and calibration data for every map you've used • Supports latitude/longitude, UTM/UPS, and MGRS georeferencing • Doesn't require a data connection for navigation - all maps are stored offline • Has a deep zoom function, perfect for fine details in scanned maps
3/6/2014This application works great. I live in Alaska and there are frequently places I go without cell phone reception, having offline maps available to use for navigation is crucial. I've bad great success with the snap picture of map feature as well as turning my phone into a jump drive in regedit and saving map pictures to it. Georefrrencing is fast easy and accurate. Good job guys. Update I've used this when I worked in Australia and its still an amazing tool. One wish now that deep zoom has been added is that I wish I could make waypoints with a description field. Good work.
3/6/2014Very well done and useful.
8/5/2013Works good... When it works. It locks up a lot on my lumina 920
7/24/2013Works great. Map saving would be nice.
7/8/2013Works awesome in places like South Korea where you can't really download maps offline :-)
4/15/2013Great app. This was well thought out and so useful. I wish I had bought it sooner.
4/15/2013Brilliant! Working perfectly now on my Nokia 920.
4/6/2013Awesome, so glad I found this to get background gpx logs
2/23/2013This app was absolutely perfect for my hunting trip and I can see people using it for lots of other purposes. Couple feature requests... 1. Ability to select a point on a real map (Nokia Maps) as a calibration point 2. Ability to share calibrated maps either via SkyDrive or NFC TapToShare 3. Having the map follow your orientation doesn't work. Well actually I think it's upside down.
