Flac Player plays FLAC, ALAC and OGG music files which you can download from your SkyDrive storage.

FLAC stands for Free Lossless Audio Codec, an audio format similar to MP3, but lossless, meaning that audio is compressed in FLAC without any loss in quality. This is similar to how Zip works, except with FLAC you will get much better compression because it is designed specifically for audio, and you can play back compressed FLAC files in your Windows Phone device just like you would an MP3 file.

ALAC - Apple Lossless Audio Codec

Version 1.1 - Playback of WAV, MP3, WMA, AMR, AAC, MP4, 3GP, 3G2 files.

Version 1.2 - Playlists.

Version 1.3 - Playback of M4A (ALAC), OGA, OGV, OGG (Vorbis) audio files.

It would be great music player if it could play music from SD card on my phone. Accessing OneDrive is not always possible. I am not even sure if I can play files located in phone's main memory.

I'd really like to play .m4a / MPEG4 audio stored on my phone!!!! The cloud is great, but why not make the local audio accessible also.

This app does not aspire to become MediaMonkey. But it deliver what it intends to: play Flac files on WP8. The process needs intensive wi-fi connection to move those 60+ MB Flac files from PC to OneDrive, then sync Flac Player to OneDrive. You will be rewarded with a taste of Hi-Res audio in ordinary smartphone. Higher quality headphone (not that teeny stock earphone) will be needed.
