9/5/2013The definitive encyclopedia app. Don't whip out your phone to fact-check someone using Wikipedia. Brittanica is trustworthy and well written. The page wipe instead of scroll provides a book-like feel.
5/12/2013Great info so far. Once you can find it... I have done 2 searches that should have been very simple, "writ of habeas corpus" and "ivory coast". No results found. I shortened the first to "habeas corpus" and still no results. Really??? Going to the index and filtering for the exact search terms DOES yield results. 5 stars when the search works.
5/11/2013Nice app but requires subscription, so you pay for the app which has basic topline info but then you go to page 2 and get "want to continue reading? Get a $9.99/year subscription". Which isn't bad for a good encyclopedia and updates of content, just not what you expect when you pay for app. So kind of a paid trial. Beyond that it work well, looks good but it is a little slow as you cachein the index or days top 10.
5/11/2013Great. Top 10 best apps
5/11/2013I always wanted a set of Britannica encyclopedias as a kid so having this app fulfills a childhood want in some respect. I am happy to support researched, professional writing and use this app as a companion to the inaccurate but more prolific wikipedia. A few complaints: the page turning animation is slow and unfinished, the app isn't formatted for the 720p screen of the HTC 8X so there is wasted space at the top and the app feels sluggish at times.
5/11/2013Content: tremendous. I would very much appreciate the ability to tap through pages instead of swiping.
5/11/2013Great app. Awesome information. Worth every penny
