Use Microsoft OneNote Mobile
You can take new notes and open existing OneNote notebooks right on your phone. Your notes can help you remember things like what happened in that meeting at work or what you need to pick up at the grocery store on the way home. You can even record an audio note if you don't feel like typing. Just go to the Office Hub to get started.
To create a new note

On Start, flick left to the App list, and then tap Office
. -
Flick to Notes, and then tap New
. -
If you want to enter a title, tap Enter title, and then type a title.

Tap below the title, and then type your notes.

When you're done, press the Back
button to go back to Notes and save your changes. If you have a Windows Live ID set up on your phone, your changes will be saved and synced to your default Personal (Web) notebook on SkyDrive. Like Microsoft OneNote on your computer, your changes are saved
automatically when you leave OneNote Mobile, such as when you press the
Back
or Start
button on your phone.
- If you don't type a title, the first line of text in your note will be used as the title.
Tip
If you have a note you want to access quickly, like a shopping list, you can pin it to Start. In the Office Hub, tap and hold the note, and tap Pin to start. To learn more, see Pin things to Start.
To open a note

On Start, flick left to the App list, and then tap Office
. -
Flick to Notes, and then tap the note to open it. If you don't see the note, do one or more of the following:
- Tap Search
, type a word or two that might be in the title, and then tap the page for the note you want to open. - Tap Notebooks
, tap a notebook, tap a section, and then tap a page to open it. The notebooks that appear can be on your phone, SkyDrive, Microsoft Office 365, or a Microsoft SharePoint site.

To view different parts of the note, zoom in and out by pinching and stretching your fingers and scroll by flicking up or down.

You can also copy content from your OneNote file and paste it into other files, apps, or messages on your phone. For more info about how to do this, see Copy and paste.
Notes
- OneNote Mobile doesn't support all the features that are found in Microsoft OneNote 2010 or Microsoft OneNote Web App. If a notebook has content that's not supported in OneNote Mobile, you can still open the notebook and view it on your phone, but the unsupported content won't be displayed.
- If you open a OneNote file that was attached to an email, you can't save or edit that file on your phone.
To delete a page

In the Office Hub, flick to Notes, and then open the page you want to delete.

Tap More
> Delete. -
Tap Yes in the Delete page? message box.
The page will be deleted on both your phone and the server.
To create a to-do list

In a note, tap Enter title, and then type a title for your to-do list.

Tap in the body of the note, tap To do
, and then type the first item. -
Tap Enter
, and then type the second item. -
To end the to-do list, tap Enter twice
.
To create other kinds of lists

To create a bulleted list, in a note, tap List
, and then type the first bulleted item. -
Tap Enter
, and then type the second bulleted item. -
To end the bulleted list, tap Enter twice

To create a new numbered list, tap More
> Numbered list, and then type the first item.
To insert a picture in a note

In a note, tap Picture
. -
Do one of the following:
- To take a new picture and insert it, tap Camera
, press the camera button to take a picture, and then tap Accept. - To insert an existing picture, tap the album that contains the picture you want to insert, and then tap the picture.
- To take a new picture and insert it, tap Camera

To add audio to a note

In a note, tap Audio
. -
Speak and record what you want to say.

Tap Stop when you're done.

To play the audio, tap Audio note
.
To format text in a note

In a note, tap a word, and then drag the arrows at each end of the highlighted text to include the first and last words you want to format.

Tap More
> Format. -
Under Format, tap the text formatting you want to use.
The text formatting options include Bold
, Italic
, Underline
, and Strikethrough
. -
To stop formatting text, tap after the highlighted text, tap More
> Format, and then tap an icon for the formatting that's currently being used to turn it off.
Tip
You can apply more than one formatting option too. To do this,
highlight the text to format, tap More
> Format, and then choose the first
formatting option. After that, tap More
> Format again, and then choose another
formatting option.
To start a new page in a specific notebook

In the Office Hub, flick to Notes, tap Notebooks
, tap a notebook, tap a section, and then tap New
.
To send a note in email

On Start, flick left to the App list, and then tap Office
. -
In the Office Hub, flick to Notes, and then tap the note you want to send as an attachment in email.

Tap Email
. -
Tap an email account name.

Add the recipient and any other information to your email, and then tap Send
.
