Get your forecasts on the go with the official Met Office weather application
As the UK’s national meteorological service, the Met Office provides the most accurate and reliable weather forecasts on TV and radio, in print, and online. Now, you can get our UK forecasts wherever you go with the Met Office Windows Phone 8 application.

** Please note, there is a known bug on the WindowsPhone8 which will impact the map function only of the Met Office app and may cause it to stop working. Between December 28 and midnight (23:59) on December 31, the map function will be unable to display the normal 5-day map view. The standard 5-day Weather view is unaffected and full functionality will be restored from January 1 2014. **

• 5-day UK forecasts
• National severe weather warnings
• Daily weather maps
• Save and access your favourite locations
• Three-hourly forecasts out to five days ahead
• Probability of precipitation
• UV forecast maps
• Feels like temperature
• Interactive weather maps
• More detailed weather warning information
• Live Tiles

Please note the map layers will work best over 3G or WiFi. Please check our website for more information about our services and application updates.

This app seems fairly good but I would rather the forecasts show every hour rather than every 3 hours. Maybe a few other minor improvements needed to for the general UI and more features. Not sure how accurate it is yet either.

Good, could do with the pressure, always good to know when there's low pressure, the fish love it😊

Very poor and confusing user interface, bad graphics, live tiles...

This is really quite an awful app, and British people should use MetWeather instead. Here's why: 1. No live tile support, NOR lock screen support. Shows a complete disregard for taking advantage of the technology. 2. Every time you open the app it has to 'rediscover' your location, even if you haven't moved. This process takes a few seconds. How come MetWeather has no problem loading my location up immediately? 3. Banner adverts to the Met Office website. Why do we need adverts to the official site? We're using the app because we're on a smartphone and don't want to visit the official site! I always pay to get rid of adverts in my apps where possible, but here we have no choice. 4. It has critical weather warnings which also show on the live tile but no option to have them as push notifications. Now it's not all negative. The app, being data from the Met Office, has the most accurate forecast in the UK (Also, the unofficial MetWeather which pulls the exact same data) and the VR mode is neat.

Was wonderful until 2 days ago and now will not open at all on 820 What's that all about?

No updates since 2013? Poor. Take these comments on board for continuous improvement. Not a brilliant interface. A "Live" tile that doesn't update? Even the US apps are better for UK weather; at least they care about customer satisfaction.

Good app but needs international forecasts like on the android version.

Much better than Bing weather. Just downloaded this app and, although not as attractive in layout, it is more accurate.
