To use this first direct Banking on the go app you need to be a first direct customer and registered for first direct Internet Banking. We know that you like to manage your money when you're "on the go". That's why we've created this app. It allows you to see and use some of your Internet Banking services more easily on a smaller screen. Our app allows you to: • view balances and up to your last 90 transactions • make transfers between your accounts with us • make payments to a person or organisation you have paid before using Internet Banking At the moment, we are unable to offer our recently launched Digital Secure Key with this app. You can access the app with your first direct Internet Banking logon details. You'll still need to log on to full Internet Banking at firstdirect.com regularly to access all services. We recommend you do this at least every 14 days. Some of the Internet Banking services that you can only access by logging on at firstdirect.com are: • full statement information • details of monthly charges, fees and interest • sending, receiving and viewing secure messages • setting up payments to a person or organisation you haven't paid before • cancelling or amending a payment you have set up We don't charge you for this app, but we can't say the same for your network provider, who may charge you for downloading and using the app. You'll be responsible for these charges. We recommend that you don't use this app abroad, but if you do, you'll need to make sure that it's permitted by local law, and remember your network provider's charges may be higher. The app may be withdrawn at any time; we will tell you if this is going to happen. • Bug fixes If our app helps you to manage your finances, please post a review to let other customers know. 21/02/2015As per other reviews, doesn't have secure code function so pointless for my needs. Tried to get help on this using th e first direct chat on the website, equally useless, they couldn't understand the question. Rubbish and what a waste of a fair bit of time.
17/02/2015I see this app still doesn't work. I don't expect new functionality (secure key) but I do expect the functionality you offer to work properly. And given logon always has to be entered twice before I can get in, you failed as it were before you even started. Pathetic, even ignoring your lack of interface design skills (unless its iOS, of course). Frankly not something we would release to our clients. Where was the testing? Or did your just smash it in and hope no one would complain - next time just don't bother
14/02/2015Very poor. Cannot login using known credentials - so now I'm locked out and must make a phone call to reset access.
12/02/2015Does not feel like much effort has gone into the app and as a wp user I cannot use some basics I am seriously thinking of moving banks. Really surprised First Direct you normally get things right and this is a huge disappointed.
06/02/2015Poor implementation of an iOS style app wrapper of their banking website. Lacks key functionality for mobile banking and always fails first logon attempt. Their IT Director needs a slap. Not only couldn't they be bothered to create a Windows Phone app, they didn't even bother to investigate and implement the UI design guidelines! If they paid an outside agency to create this pile of junk they should demand their money back!

03/02/2015Utter ****, times out 9 times out of 10 without logging in, when it works it looks like a poorly ported iOS app. Firstdirect scores very highly in every other aspect but this is absolutely **** 😞
01/02/2015Very poor, simply a web wrapper. Log on almost always fails first time, repeating credentials. Does not support code generation, unlike the iPhone/Android versions. Another example of Windows being treated as a third class citizen and an afterthought when it comes to app development.

20/01/2015Barely adequate. Normally first direct are pretty switched on, but, this app is just a lazy version of an iPhone app. Why no secure key? Secure messages seem to work at random. No innovation, just a cheap copy. Shame as their phone service is second to none, this app could do with a nice fresh windows phone look. Go wake up your IT teams first direct!
