To use this first direct Banking on the go app you need to be a first direct customer and registered for first direct Internet Banking. We know that you like to manage your money when you're "on the go". That's why we've created this app. It allows you to see and use some of your Internet Banking services more easily on a smaller screen. Our app allows you to: • view balances and up to your last 90 transactions • make transfers between your accounts with us • make payments to a person or organisation you have paid before using Internet Banking At the moment, we are unable to offer our recently launched Digital Secure Key with this app. You can access the app with your first direct Internet Banking logon details. You'll still need to log on to full Internet Banking at firstdirect.com regularly to access all services. We recommend you do this at least every 14 days. Some of the Internet Banking services that you can only access by logging on at firstdirect.com are: • full statement information • details of monthly charges, fees and interest • sending, receiving and viewing secure messages • setting up payments to a person or organisation you haven't paid before • cancelling or amending a payment you have set up We don't charge you for this app, but we can't say the same for your network provider, who may charge you for downloading and using the app. You'll be responsible for these charges. We recommend that you don't use this app abroad, but if you do, you'll need to make sure that it's permitted by local law, and remember your network provider's charges may be higher. 20/05/2015Does the job in terms of getting basic access to my account, but login is problematic, often taking two attempts. Needs an update and secure key authentication
12/05/2015Feels a like an iPhone app and a very half hearted, that said, I am glad it is finally here on Windows phone and it does the basics well. Not been updated since initial release so i have downgraded my rating. if you want to see a proper windows banking app check out Barclays ping it or Natwest. In fact I think I might start banking with them instead if this is how much First Direct care about their customers
11/05/2015Ok, as long as the account is configured in a browser. Very frustrating that the secure key doesn't work and I have to log on twice to use it! Time for an update, it's been in this state for some time now!!

08/05/2015This app used to work with Windows Phone 10 technical preview but not with the last one as of today. Don't upgrade if you still want ro use this app. APP CRASHES ON STARTUP ON LATEST WINDOWS 10 PREVIEW! IT USED TO WORK ON EARLIER PREVIEWS BUT NOT ANYMORE! In any case, the app interface needs an overhaul, it feels old and clunky and does not always load properly.
04/05/2015Absolutely dreadful. Firstly, this app has an iPhone interface, which is terrible on Windows Phone. The two systems have different interfaces and expect different behaviour from users, so putting one on the other is just annoying. For instance, pressing the WP back key shuts the app down. Secondly, this app doesn't support the digital secure key, which is surely the whole point of getting the First Direct app -- without that, we may as well just use the website, which is far far better. A huge disappointment from the usually brilliant First Direct. I'm going to uninstall it now. [Update] Thought I'd give this another try, since FD have made their website worse (***?). Well, this app is now even worse too. The ONLY thing it can do is show me my balance. That's it. And in an IOS interface too. Truly pathetic.
30/04/2015A good start. Not quite as many features as the iOS version, but still easy to use.
29/04/2015Doesn't work with the secure key functionality, worse won't tell you that, instead just leaving you with a vague error (MB000). Very disappointing from a bank I'd otherwise wholeheartedly recommend.
