To use this first direct Banking on the go app you need to be a first direct customer and registered for first direct Internet Banking. We know that you like to manage your money when you're "on the go". That's why we've created this app. It allows you to see and use some of your Internet Banking services more easily on a smaller screen. Our app allows you to: • view balances and up to your last 90 transactions • make transfers between your accounts with us • make payments to a person or organisation you have paid before using Internet Banking At the moment, we are unable to offer our recently launched Digital Secure Key with this app. You can access the app with your first direct Internet Banking logon details. You'll still need to log on to full Internet Banking at firstdirect.com regularly to access all services. We recommend you do this at least every 14 days. Some of the Internet Banking services that you can only access by logging on at firstdirect.com are: • full statement information • details of monthly charges, fees and interest • sending, receiving and viewing secure messages • setting up payments to a person or organisation you haven't paid before • cancelling or amending a payment you have set up We don't charge you for this app, but we can't say the same for your network provider, who may charge you for downloading and using the app. You'll be responsible for these charges. We recommend that you don't use this app abroad, but if you do, you'll need to make sure that it's permitted by local law, and remember your network provider's charges may be higher. The app may be withdrawn at any time; we will tell you if this is going to happen. • Bug fixes If our app helps you to manage your finances, please post a review to let other customers know. Thank you.
23/03/2015After reading the reviews my hopes were not high but I did want to easily be able to check balances on the move. It is in no way a good app, but you can get your basics done. Just don't expect a pleasant experience doing it. Hope the Microsoft design team can help them sorry this out.
21/03/2015Never works. Always unavailable.
21/03/2015Very very disappointing. FD use to lead the way but products are non competitive, the web site poor and the windows phone app doesn't even work, I think the ti.e has come to change to Barclays who seem to embracing the modern world far faster than FD
21/03/2015As banking apps go, this one is pretty poor and feels like a poorly ported iPhone app rather than one which has been properly written for Windows Phone. Most of the functions work but there are nasty inconsistencies such as having to log in twice and some basic tasks not being possible. Very disappointing.
21/03/2015Pity there's no zero star option. Shocking and the last straw in my relationship with FD/HSBC, already strained from Mexican drug smuggling money dealings and UK tax avoidance.
15/03/2015Worse than useless, it wont let me transfer money, just comes up with error messages. I changed banks purely to get a mobile banking app for windows phone, I'm now considering leaving on the basis that this app doesn't work.
06/03/2015At least it works.... Why doesn't it have the same options as the android version?! Naff log on too
27/02/2015Awful. STILL two attempts to log in EVERY time. And then goes downhill from there. Surely FD must be embarrassed by this?!
21/02/2015As per other reviews, doesn't have secure code function so pointless for my needs. Tried to get help on this using th e first direct chat on the website, equally useless, they couldn't understand the question. Rubbish and what a waste of a fair bit of time.
17/02/2015I see this app still doesn't work. I don't expect new functionality (secure key) but I do expect the functionality you offer to work properly. And given logon always has to be entered twice before I can get in, you failed as it were before you even started. Pathetic, even ignoring your lack of interface design skills (unless its iOS, of course). Frankly not something we would release to our clients. Where was the testing? Or did your just smash it in and hope no one would complain - next time just don't bother
