To use this first direct Banking on the go app you need to be a first direct customer and registered for first direct Internet Banking. We know that you like to manage your money when you're "on the go". That's why we've created this app. It allows you to see and use some of your Internet Banking services more easily on a smaller screen. Our app allows you to: • view balances and up to your last 90 transactions • make transfers between your accounts with us • make payments to a person or organisation you have paid before using Internet Banking At the moment, we are unable to offer our recently launched Digital Secure Key with this app. You can access the app with your first direct Internet Banking logon details. You'll still need to log on to full Internet Banking at firstdirect.com regularly to access all services. We recommend you do this at least every 14 days. Some of the Internet Banking services that you can only access by logging on at firstdirect.com are: • full statement information • details of monthly charges, fees and interest • sending, receiving and viewing secure messages • setting up payments to a person or organisation you haven't paid before • cancelling or amending a payment you have set up We don't charge you for this app, but we can't say the same for your network provider, who may charge you for downloading and using the app. You'll be responsible for these charges. We recommend that you don't use this app abroad, but if you do, you'll need to make sure that it's permitted by local law, and remember your network provider's charges may be higher. The app may be withdrawn at any time; we will tell you if this is going to happen. • Bug fixes If our app helps you to manage your finances, please post a review to let other customers know. Thank you.
27/09/2014It just doesn't work. FD are making banking more difficult by the day. Time for a different bank, I think.
27/09/2014Pretty darn poor. Have to log in twice 90% of the time as the first time it thinks I've times out. UI is vile, not making use of any of the rich functionality available from windows phone. The ugly as heck loading image slapped over the top of the screen from the start means you progress through the app with dread. Considering this is digital only bank it's appalling and has really damaged it's image for me.
22/09/2014Poor show. Takes two attempts to logon as the first one is always rejected with a security timeout. Only very basic functionality in app compared with iOS version. Hope this is improved on and they add support for secure key in a future release.
21/09/2014Without secure key as on Android and iOS, this app is quite limited. It only shows a fraction of your online payees and won't allow new payees. The UI does not feel like a WP app. It needs more investment, but FD won't do that without more users. Disappointing.
20/09/2014God only knows what bugs they 'fixed' in the update, it still takes me 2 attempts to logon, still cant access payments page and it still looks like an ugly iOS app!
17/09/2014I'm glad that First Direct finally got an app out there, but this feels much like a skin on the website. The lack of the secure key is the killer though. This app is pretty much just a token effort so that First Direct can have 'Windows Phone' in the list of platforms you can install for.
16/09/2014It's nice that First Direct are considering WinPhone users for their app lineup unlike several other retail banks.
12/09/2014I can check my balance and that's it. Everytime I go to make payments it goes to load page then gives me a false error try again later page. Its been several weeks.
09/09/2014Sadly can no longer make payments on it and login fails often. Thinking of switching to one of the many banks that do support windows phone properly.
08/09/2014Currently useless. Doesn't support secure key so no point in having it.
