This app USED to be fantastic when it was first released on to the wp market and ever since it first update it has got worse and worse what is the point of spending money creating an appalling app that a 3 year old could make better absolute rubbish from the BBC

Worked great on my iphone, been utter tosh on my Nokia, all my other apps run great on Wifi and 4G Netflix, ITV, online gaming etc.... BBC iPlayer awful laggy, losing sound and lots of buffering. Such a shame

I'm not really sure what everyone else is talking about when they're saying its awful. Sure, its not amazing, but it works. The quality is 'on and off'; most of the time its good, but occasionally it will lapse and blur a bit. Its still watchable though. I haven't had any problems with buffering and, even when skipping parts of a program it only takes a few seconds to jump (I suppose this could be a bit faster). The design and layout is mediocre and, considering this is the BBC, to whom we pay license fees, I think it could be a bit more exciting. However, in general, the app works (although it could be improved in places), and I don't think it deserves all the terrible reviews it's been given.

I really didn't mind the old one at all, mainly i guess because it worked....... How they have managed to f*** this up so much is beyond me. Did they not beta/alfa test it and find that cant play a program without it stuttering work no matter how fast the internet you are using??? This needs sorted fast.

Absolute rubbish. come on you tech heads cant you at least match android so us window users can also download a program and watch off line! Some where instead of just at home.

Previously I was able to watch stuff with no problems - so long as it was through wi-fi. This was fine by me as I am a shift worker so can't watch programmes live. Now it won't work even through wi-fi. Constantly falters and freezes. Pathetic! I've been looking for a reason to stop paying the licence fee and it looks like I've found it! I refuse to pay £145 for a service I am unable to use.

Hoping the BBC release a native version of this app sooner rather than later. As a paying license fee customer I see this app as part of the service I pay for, so for the app to be so subpar is tarnishing my view of the beeb. Hopefully the xbox one app they are planning will lead to code filtering through to the phone app. I have complained direct to the BBC about this app, if you are annoyed you should too via their iplayer complaints contact form
