Pinning things to Start
You can pin just about anything you want to Start: applications, songs, map locations, favourite websites, OneNote notes, contacts and a lot more. When you pin a contact to Start, you'll get all of that person's feed updates from that Tile. And it's like speed dial: it only takes two taps to call the person.
To pin a contact or Group

On Start, tap People, then flick to All.

Do one of the following:
- Tap and hold the contact or Group you want to pin, then tap Pin to Start.
- Tap the contact or Group you want to pin, then tap Pin
.
To pin an application

On Start, flick left to the Application list.

Press and hold the application that you want to pin, then press Pin to Start.
To pin a game
-
On Start, flick left to the Application list, then press Games
. -
Press and hold the game you want to pin, then press Pin to Start.
To pin a website
-
Open the website you want to pin.

Press More
, then press Pin to Start.
To pin a map location

On Start, flick left to the Application list, then press Maps.

Do one of the following:
- Type the location you want to find, press on the flag that identifies the location, then press Pin
. - Press More
, press Favourite places, press a location you've saved to your favourites, then press Pin
.

To pin an album, playlist, artist, song or genre

On Start, flick left to the Application list, then press Music + Videos

Under Zune, press Music.

Flick to Artists, Albums, Songs, Playlists or Genres.

Press and hold the artist, album, song, playlist or genre, then press Pin to Start.
To pin your Favourites photo album

On Start, press Pictures.

Flick to Favourites, then press See all.

Press More
, then press Pin to Start.
To pin any other photo album

On Start, press Pictures > Albums.

Press and hold the album you want to pin, then press Pin to Start.
To pin an Office document or document location

On Start, flick left to the Application list, then press Office
. -
Flick to Documents or Locations.

Press and hold a document or location, then press Pin to Start.
To pin a OneNote note

On Start, flick left to the Application list, then press Office
. -
Do one of the following:
- Press and hold the note you want to pin, then press Pin to Start.
- Press Notebooks
, navigate to the page you want to pin, then press Pin
. - Press More
, then Press Pin new to Start. A new, blank note is pinned to Start.
To pin a folder from an email inbox

Open the account that has the folder you want to pin.

Press More
> Folders. -
Tap Show all folders, tap and hold a folder, then tap Pin to Start.
Tips
- If you'd like to move a Tile somewhere else on Start, press and hold the Tile, then move it wherever you'd like.
- To resize a Tile, press and hold it, then press the Resize arrow until the Tile changes to the size you want.
- To remove a Tile, press and hold it, then press Unpin
.
