24/09/2014Wow. ****. Cant access docs. Limited functionality. Update and bring this in line with other platforms. Disappointing result from Amazon.
21/09/2014Was working fine until I updated it. Now it won't open.
20/09/2014Definitely needs some love, it would be fantastic to see support for my growing collection of comics that for now I can only read through the Kindle Cloud Reader.
20/09/2014Still the poor cousin to ios/Android versions. Why does the Windows Phone version need to be absent of the fundamental features?
19/09/2014I'm for Nook. Over Kindle. Sick and tired of the compromise. I'm not going back to ios and I'm sure as hell not going to be expanding my kindle library. There are so many alternatives now. Why put up with this
18/09/2014Can't download books useless
9/09/2014Well it's almost four years since the Kindle Reader for Windows Phone was released. There is still no highlighting or annotations from within the app, despite these features being on both Android and iOS versions. As another reviewer said, it makes the app useless for academic or other non-fiction reading. I was kind of hoping with Brandon Watson going over to Amazon, that there might be some progress with adding features to the Kindle Reader app to bring it on at least a par with its Android and iOS counterparts. Sadly, nothing to date.
1/09/2014Reducing another star due to lack of progress with these issues. You really expect Amazon to come up with a better built app than this. I have had the same issues across multiple devices. Book loading issue appears fixed but upon resume the app still reverts to home screen (after briefly displaying the book I am reading) and also occasionally freezes mid transition. Unfortunately, I am left with no choice but to persevere and come out of the app and try again, which eventually works UPDATE: 02/09/14 Not sure if it the update to WP8.1 or if Amazon fixed the issues but the app is running much better now. Giving a cautious 3 stars and will increase if it stays stable
11/08/2014I spent $15 on a book, and i can't even highlight passages, bookmark, or add notes. This app is fairly useless for any academic or nonfiction reading. Please add more functions!
4/08/2014An unadjustable font that only allows about 75 words to a screen, and constant dropped phrases between screens. Not easy to use. At least let us zoom in and out to suit our particular preferences.
