Set up a Facebook account

When you set up your Facebook account on your phone, Facebook info is available in lots of different places. You'll see what your Facebook friends are up to in the People Hub, Pictures Hub, and the Me card. And if you connect your Facebook account to your Windows Live ID, you can also use Facebook Chat in Messaging.

To set up a Facebook account

  1. On Start, flick left to the App list, then tap Settings Settings icon > Email + accounts.

  2. Tap Add an account > Facebook.

  3. Tap the Email address box, and then type the email address that is associated with your Facebook account.

  4. Tap the Password box, and then type your Facebook password.

  5. Tap Sign in.

  6. If you haven't linked your Facebook account to your Windows Live ID, you'll be asked if you'd like to link them now. Tap Connect to go to a Facebook website.

    Follow the instructions to connect your account.

To turn on Facebook Chat

  1. On Start, flick left to the App list, then tap Settings Settings icon > Applications > Messaging.

  2. Turn Facebook Chat on.

  3. If you haven't linked your Facebook account to your Windows Live ID, you'll be asked if you'd like to link them now. Tap Set up to go to a Facebook website.

    Follow the instructions to connect your account.

Notes

  • To set up your Facebook account on your phone, you must have a working cellular data or Wi-Fi connection. For more info, see Connect to a Wi-Fi network.
  • You can only have one Facebook account set up on your phone at a time. If you want to add a different account, you'll need to delete the existing one on your phone first.
  • Facebook may not be available in your country or region.
